Keep in touch
Microchipping your pet is essential for their safety, especially when you're out and about.
If the worst happens and your fur friend wanders off or gets lost - especially if they're missing without a collar and tag - a microchip provides a permanent ID that helps reunite you quickly. Keep your contact details updated at animalregister.co.nz.
Let's hit the road!
Hitting the road with your fur friend can be fun, but safety comes first! With a little preparation, you can ensure that your pet stays safe, comfortable and happy in the car. Remember, never leave your pet locked in the car - even for just a few minutes. Even with the window cracked, temperatures can rise dangerously fast, leading to heatstroke or worse.
-
Start car trips with them early with small, frequent roadies to reduce stress and (hopefully) avoid car sickness.
-
Be prepared - pack water, treats and their favourite toy and blanket for entertainment and comfort.
-
Never leave pets locked in the car - even for a short time with the windows cracked.
-
Use a pet seatbelt, harness or carrier to keep your best friend safe and secure.
-
Make regular stops for bathroom breaks, a drink of water and some time to stretch those legs.
-
If your fur friend suffers from car sickness or is anxious in the car, talk to us about products to help.
